1. Detail
Detail is the strongest all-round switch. Its Auto Edit removes silences and filler words, and since version 6.0 (14 Sep 2026) Detail says it runs on your phone with nothing leaving it, offline. It also has a teleprompter with Voice Tracking, multicam and captions in 50+ languages.
The price is lower: a free plan with watermarked exports, and Pro at 5.83 euros a month or 70 euros a year. We found no mention of retake removal, and its recording format isn’t stated. It has 3,795 ratings at 4.55.
2. CutKit
CutKit does the trimming part of Captions and skips the rest. It cuts retakes, false starts, filler words and long pauses on the phone, at Natural or Aggressive pace, and you tap to restore any cut. It records 4K, 10-bit HDR HEVC in the native camera format and exports without re-encoding. No account, no upload, no credits: Pro is $9.99 a month, $59.99 a year or $149.99 lifetime.

3. CapCut
CapCut is the free-to-start editor with the huge user base: 1,122,338 ratings at 4.61, and versions for iOS, Android and desktop. It has auto captions, trim and split, and 4K 60 fps export with smart HDR. Pro is $7.99 to $19.99 a month or $89.99 a year on the App Store.
Its teleprompter uses a manual speed slider, according to third-party sources. We couldn’t verify an auto-cut for filler words on mobile. It’s the best pick if you want effects and captions and don’t mind manual work. See CutKit vs CapCut.
4. BIGVU
BIGVU adds a teleprompter to captions and editing, and it removes filler words and awkward pauses with one tap, per its site. It’s subscription only: $12 to $49 a month, and Super Agent at $239. 5. Descript
Descript is the best at text-based editing, including removing filler words, retakes and silences, and it’s the one to pick for long recordings. It runs on desktop and the web, and we found no native iPhone app. Plans run from $24 a month for Hobbyist to $50 to $65 for Business, though its pricing page read inconsistently when we checked.
